Peavey T The T was the first guitar Peavey ever produced. It was a market changer due to some of the new ideas and manufacturing techniques employed on this guitar for the first time. It was conceived in , first produced in not really until and stayed in production into I think the prices are dirt cheap for what this guitar is.

I just got in 3 models of some of the best vintage style guitars I’ve seen for the money. They arrived with a very good setup, the fit and finish is excellent, and they are made with quality hardware and electronics including a Wilkinson vintage style tremolo with “pop-in” trem arm and Allen-screw tightness adjustment, Sperzel USA locking tuners, and TTM’s own Palladium Series pickups.

The latest and greatest reissue of the original early 50s black guard Tele, replacing the American Vintage ‘ This one has all the black guard era vibe with period correct hardware and pickups, but adds modern features such as pickup switching and the modern 9. The Tele has always been the workhorse guitar in the Fender stable and none more than the butterscotch black guard Strat. It has all the twang you know and love in a Tele and this 9. It is set up with very low action and sounds very alive, even when unplugged. Includes Fender black case and certificate. These guitars already have a great vintage vibe with an authentic looking two-tone sunburst gloss finish, parchment parts, and tinted neck, so the vintage logo is icing on the cake.

Fan Bracing on Martin Guitars I’ve spent a large part of the past six or seven years intently focused on collecting C. Martin and related guitars of a transitional nature that illuminate the evolution of the American steel string flat top guitar, from the earliest Viennese Style ladder braced guitars made when C. Martin first set up shop in New York in the early ‘s, to the Spanish influenced fan braced guitar, through several early variants of X bracing, to the early Dreadnaught, to the first “modern” 14 fret X braced steel string guitars that Martin promoted in the ‘s, that are still considered the epitome of the art of guitar making today.

A pickup is a transducer that captures the mechanical vibration of a string and converts it into an electrical current. Every component wire, magnet, bobbin, slugs, etc affects the sound and interacts differently with instruments and amps, which is why we design and build many distinct pickup models. Nearly all Private Stock and Core pickups are designed and built in our Stevensville, Maryland factory.

I researched this extensively and discovered that anything I need can be purchased from a variety of sources, and if my pockets are deep enough, there is no problem. Well, here’s what I further understood. Some tools and jigs are very simple in construction, but costly, so I decided to create my own, with the exception of a couple, which are more complex or made from materials I do not have at my exposure.

I’m fortunate to have a shop full of the basic woodworking and craft tools, and enough experience gained through past experiments to tackle the ‘special’ tool making endeavor, plus I simply get a rise out of creating my own stuff. It can be as simple as laminated cardboard pieces cut in the shape of the guitar body, or as complex as an item costing a hundred dollars or more. Or, something in between for a lot less money.

Accordingly, the serial number for the first guitar built in the Tecate factory on November 2, is From until the end of , each Taylor guitar featured a nine-digit serial number that precisely pinpoints when work was begun on that guitar.

Bob Leggitt Saturday, 10 December From the late s, the Levinson company brought something a little more sophisticated to the world of Strat copies. For the previous few years, much of the variation on the Strat theme had been focused around the genre of hard rock, with humbuckers, pointy headstocks, divebomb-compatible trems and luminous finishes combining to produce guitars of which Spinal Tap would have been proud. Or, the cheaper option: So imagine the shock, in this climate, of asking for information on the Strat of the future, only to be handed a catalogue… with a bloke in a double-breasted suit on the front cover!

Yes, it’s that catalogue. Yes, that was the Levinson Blade brand. Guitars not for metal gods, but for, well… insurance salesmen, apparently. Gary E Levinson himself had directed the art for the catalogue, and the individuals in the photos were diverse.

Gibson has also produced two Billie Joe Armstrong Signature Les Paul Junior models one double cutaway, and one single cutaway as well as a very limited run of signature acoustic guitars. Since his death, Gibson has discontinued all Chet Atkins models and Gretsch has resumed the manufacturing and distribution of the Chet Atkins line. Here is a very, very, rare guitar. Not many of these were sold as people thought they looked real strange. In fact they were made to look like a early 18th centuary instrument on purpose. It has a Mike Christian transducer bridge and is perfect for the acoustic player who likes to play electric now and again. It will never ever feedback.

Made of course at the old Gibson factory in Kalamazoo this one dates from and is already worth twice what it cost new. Hi, I bought a strat style Levinson Blade at the weekend. I originally went to go for a Mexican Strat as a 2nd guitar to my Gibson Les Paul Standard, but dspite all the good reports and reviews I wasn’t impressed, the necks were not nice to play. The guy in the shop suggested and American one, but these were out of my price range, and so he suggested I try a 2nd hand Levinson Blade, which was a much nicer guitar, far superior neck, and sounded much better, so I bought it.

I used it at rehearsal on Sunday, very nice through my Cornford MK50 What I can’t seesm to find out is what model it is, or what age, so need some help. It is Strat shape with headstock similar to a Strat one Cream finish with white scratchplate Heavy body, so presumably Ash Maple neck, rosewood fingerboard 1 volume and 1 tone pot 5 position selector No extra toggle switch and no electronics on board, which seems unusual Vintage style trem 2 screw with 3 springs 2 Fender style string tensioners on the headstock Serial no starts with an 8 can’t remember what it is, will check when I get home All help appreciated.

Nor is it possible to discuss all of the many people and companies who have contributed to its passage through history. It seems that Walter’s intention was to produce a bass guitar that would be appealing to players of the upright bass double bass who no longer wanted to carry such a big heavy instrument around to play in beat and jazz groups. So we got a bass that has the style and shape not unlike a classical stringed instrument and built in much the same way, hollow bodied, arched topped and a set in neck.

He had used all of these on his Club guitars the year before. The prototype Violin Bass in It differs slightly from production models as it has a black scrachplate and control panel and the logo on the body is on the upper bass bout, not under the tailpiece. The headstock shape also appears to be slightly different to the final production design. The Violin Bass gets its public debut at Frankfurt Musikmesse in Today we don’t know if anyone paid any attention to the new little bass.

Perhaps they did as an electric bass guitar was, in , quite a new thing!
