Past experiences had left us wanting more. Our driver was finally getting into the corners hard enough to move the rear end around in the chassis, and we were experiencing incomplete races due to extreme parts failures like bent shocks. Leaf spring chassis have been around for years and AFCO had the experience to help us fix the problems. We set our goals with this project car to install and tune our leaf springs for victory lane. After this, it was all going to be on the driver to get us there. Our project car was in some serious need of suspension help with smaller, worn out leaf springs that allowed excessive axle wrap and side to side movement of the rear end. Baker was familiar with this type of suspension because almost every track that has a street stock division features a parade of these Camaros in every race. With a little information on the track and normal racing conditions, Baker was able to guide us to a set of leaf springs that would prove to be more than just a good starting place.

Shackles are used every day in a variety of rigging and load securement applications. When making a sling, attach multiple sling legs to the bow, not the pin. Attaching legs to the pin can damage and weaken the sling.
Finally, you’ll need some miscellaneous bits: a pair of galvanized rings or pulleys (aka blocks) and some shackles. First, shackle a ring or block to each anchor’s chain, where you’d normally attach the rode.
D Ring Shackles With a variety of chain shackles for straight pulling, anchor shackles for multi-dimensional pulls, lifting shackles, and many more stainless steel D shackles and bow shackles, we have the equipment you need to get the job done. As a versatile tool for connecting lifting slings , wire rope , chain , and rope , these connecting links are essential for a variety of rigging, lifting, pulling and hoisting applications.
Because they come in a wide variety of styles and types, and with so many different options available, choosing the right shackle for the job can be confusing. If you have any questions, contact one of our product specialists on our sales team at The rounded design of anchor shackles and bow shackles allow them to take loads from many directions without developing significant side load. The larger loop shape of an anchor shackle or bow shackle does reduce its overall strength, but it is also able to handle a larger strap.
A d-shackle is narrower than a bow or anchor shackle and generally have a threaded pin or pin close.

No more makeshift buttons or expensive joystick handles are needed.
The regen can affect operation of snowplows and some grapples due to the simple fact that both sides of the circuit become pressurized and the cylinders will not move. Known tractor models with this issue at this time are:

Slip Hooks Slip hooks are made so the inside curve of the hook is an arc of a circle. They are used with wire rope, chains, and fiber line. Chain links can slip through a slip hook so that the loop formed in the chain can tighten under a load. Grab Hooks Grab hooks have an inside curve that is almost U-shaped so that the hook will slip over a link edgeways and not allow the next link to slip past.
Grab hooks have a much more limited range of use than slip hooks. They are used exclusively when the loop formed in the chain is not intended to close around the load.

Unlike a four-link car, which can be adjusted by way of the control arms, shock, and strut settings, a leaf spring suspension is adjusted in a different way. According to the experts, making adjustments to leaf spring cars is the same as for any other car, but the big change will be the way you deal with the back end. With Cal Tracs, changing instant center comes from the link attaching point upper or lower hole.
Pre-load settings have an effect upon the action in the back of the car and pre-load on one side of the other helps steer the car while the front wheels are in the air, much the same as an upper bar in a four-link or an anti-roll adjustment. For the setup, try this: Starting at the front, you have to ensure that the front end is not binding. With a drag car or a street strip car, what you need is either a bearing or a rod end or a Delrin bushing in the control arm.
That means either a dedicated drag race spring or something like a six cylinder spring with a small block or a small block spring with a big block engine.
The clothesline needs two anchors to work — one on the beach and one in the water. The shore anchor can be in situ, like a boulder or tree. Lacking natural blessings, you can use a spike, sand screw, grapple hook or another boat anchor. The second anchor is your boat anchor, which you already have.

Anchors and how they work.
Once the wheel is off, you should notice a pair of hangers on either side of the axle. The hangars are usually small, extended pieces of metal with holes that hang down from the frame of the trailer. Between the holes of these hangers is where you line up the eyes of a leaf spring, securing them with the proper hardware. If the leaf spring is a double-eye, one hanger will have a shackle link. Once the leaf springs are bolted into the hangers, the next step is to install a pair of U-bolts, two horseshoe-shaped metal rods.
The leaf springs can be overslung placed over the axle or underslung placed under the axle.

Shackle Washers Comments Off RM rehanger slaughtering to evisceration The carcasses are hanging at the feet in the slaughter shackle. In the first shaft the carcasses are cut from the shackle, cutting differences can be seen on the previous page. The second shaft pall wheel transfers the carcass from the cutting wheel to the carousel table.
The carousel table is a large disc transporting the carriers. At the transfer point the speed of the carts is adapted to the connecting line and and shackle width. This principle makes it possible to re hang to different line speeds and shackle widths. While the carcass is in the cart on the carousel it can be weighed. From the carier the carcass is transferred to a pall wheel for transferring it to the evisceration shackle in the right position. In case of ROPS the carcass can be hung into the shackle straight from the carier because the position in the shackle is backwards.
RM rehanger evisceration to chilling The carcasses are hanging at the drum in the evisceration shackle and the evisceration line enters the machine from the side. In the first shaft the carcasses are lifted out of the shackles by the lifting unit picture above. The lifting unit presents and transfers the carcass into the carrier on the carousel table. At the transfer point the speed of the carriers is adapted to the connecting line and and shackle width.

Important news for the heavy lifting sector Efficient lifting below the hook Modulift has designed the Trunnion End Unit, a patent pending unit designed to improve safety and reduce the set up time required in heavy lift operations Written by Laura Hatton – 01 Dec Being versatile while improving safety and productivity are just some of the demands for below the hook equipment. Laura Hatton reports In the current market for below the hook equipment, there is a demand for versatile products that can work in a range of environments.
In the bulk transport sector, for example, there is an increasing demand for versatile, low headroom lifting beams and frames. This is especially true for dockside and vessel cranes. UK-based lifting equipment specialist Modulift has invested to develop advanced and custom designs for a wide range of lifting requirements. First, the more efficient a design the lighter it can be and therefore easier to handle.
Second is the placement of handling aids lifting lugs. We analyse our designs and test them to ensure that our components will lift balanced. This is very important as it avoids the unintentional swinging of a load as it leaves the ground.
